Carl Tews
Memorial Scholarship

The Carl Tews Memorial Scholarship is intended to provide financial support to students to enable them to pursue post-secondary education. This scholarship is funded by the Edson Veterinary Clinic in honour of Carl Tews who was a man with a beautiful passion for agriculture and learning. The number of scholarships awarded each year is dependent on the number of qualified applicants. Students may apply for this scholarship for consecutive years so long as the requirements continue to be met.

Requirements

Students should show a strong desire to work in veterinary medicine although agriculture interests will also be considered.

Applicants must be from Yellowhead County

A 500-word essay is to be submitted providing details on the following:

  • Why are you applying for this scholarship?
  • What are your interests regarding veterinary medicine and/or agriculture?
  • What are you planning to do with this scholarship if you receive it?

Transcripts from your most recent school year are to be submitted

2 reference letters are to be provided

Proof of enrollment in post-secondary school

The dollar value of each scholarship will never be less than $500.00. It may be greater if fewer students apply and will be dependent on the number of applications each year.

The applicant must be graduating high school or in post-secondary school and pursuing a career in an aspect of Veterinary Medicine or agriculture

Deadline for application is September 1

Successful scholarship candidates will be contacted directly by the Edson Veterinary Clinic team by October 15

There is no age limit for this application, repeat applicant are welcome
