Pound & Rescue Services
Helping Animals, Reconnecting Families & Supporting Our Community
At Edson Veterinary Clinic, we recognize our role in supporting more than just owned pets — we’re here for stray animals, community impounds, wildlife in distress, and rescue & rehabilitation partnerships too. Below you’ll find how we work together with local agencies to serve animals in need, and how you can help.
Our Role & What You Can Expect
We help by providing medical assessment, treatment & boarding when required.
If you find a lost or stray animal, please call the designated pound first (see below) so that intake is coordinated and animals are given the best chance at reuniting with owners.
We partner with rescue societies and wildlife rehabilitation centres when animals are unsuitable for the pound (injured wildlife, orphaned mammals, etc.).
We support adoption, foster-care and re-homing of animals when appropriate, and are glad to provide veterinary support for rescues.
If you’re a pet owner facing surrender, please contact one of the rescue organizations below—they’ll guide you on options and encourage owner-surrender only when no other solution is viable.
We uphold best practices for animal welfare, informing owners of fees, vaccination/recovery requirements, and working with the local by-law for stray/impounded animals.
