Spay and Neuter Program
Helping Pets, Families, and Our Community
At Edson Veterinary Clinic, we believe spaying and neutering is one of the most important steps in keeping pets healthy and helping control unwanted animal populations in our community.
Each year, October is our Spay & Neuter Month, when we focus on making these services more accessible and encouraging responsible pet ownership.
Please call the clinic for details and booking information.
Cat Neuter Days
Throughout October, we also host special Cat Neuter Days to help reduce stray and unwanted cat populations in Edson and surrounding areas.
Watch our Facebook page and website for announcements and booking information.
These events are extremely popular and spots fill quickly!
Community Impact
On our Cat Neuter Day in October 2025, our team performed 38 cat neuters in a single day, helping families and rescues manage pet populations and improve animal welfare in our community.
We are grateful for the generous support from our industry partners who helped make this event possible, including:
Rabies vaccines donated by Boehringer
Dewormer donated by Vetoquinol
Their contributions allowed us to help even more pets and families.
We would also like to thank everyone who brought their kitties in and helped make our first Cat Neuter Day a success!
Why Spay & Neuter Matters
Spaying and neutering can:
Prevent unwanted litters
Reduce roaming and fighting behaviour
Lower risk of certain cancers and infections
Help reduce stray and abandoned animal populations
Improve overall pet health and longevity
For communities like Edson, these programs help keep shelters and rescues from becoming overwhelmed.
Working Together for Animal Welfare
These programs are part of our ongoing commitment to the community, working alongside local rescues, the Town of Edson, and pet owners to improve animal welfare in our region.
Thank you for helping us make a difference — one pet at a time.
Please call Edson Veterinary Clinic to speak with our team.
We are happy to answer questions and help you choose the best option for your pet.
